Bree has been involved in Bellydance for over 14 years, awakening her passion for this beautiful artform by stepping into her first class in 2001. Since then she has not looked back, undertaking as much training as possible on the Gold Coast before moving to London to further advance her education. In London, Bree completed a two year Diploma of Arabic Dance and Teaching and performed extensively with the renowned and highly acclaimed Johara Dance Troupe. The Diploma provided her with a deep and nuanced understanding of the history and cultural context of Arabic dance as well as mastery of its technical elements. This was complemented by her experience with Johara, where she was “well known for her pops, locks and amazing shimmies”, and which provided fertile ground for the honing and perfection of her performance skills. She returned home as the only teacher of Middle Eastern Dance on the Gold Coast to have gained this qualification.
